A Generic Approach to Publication of Clinical Cases

On the background of an increasing importance of case-based learning and case-based reasoning for education and clinical practice the question of how to supply suitable cases becomes a crucial task. A generic approach for the publishing of clinical cases is described using the Unified Modeling Language UML with the oose.de methodology. The essential business processes in the scenario under consideration are: creation of a clinical case; publication of a case; retrieval of published cases. Following this approach, a publication module has been implemented for an existing CDA-based store-and-forward multi-media teleconsultation application.
